About Kate
Kate is the freelance mural artist behind Squiggly Ink, with one mantra: the brighter, the better. Her artistic journey started from a young age, and it was in 2010 that she stumbled upon the world of mural painting. Now a full time muralist, she uses vibrant colours, geometric shapes, and bold patterns, inspired by nature, wallpaper design and ceramics. Her murals tell stories, and evoke feelings.
“My elephant design is inspired by a mix of the classic children’s story book, Elmer the patchwork Elephant, and jockey silks. I wanted to create something beautifully bright and bold, so the patchwork elephant is made up of colourful jockey silks seen at the races.”
