Meet Gayani Ariyaratne

About Gayani

From Sri Lanka and now living in Great Barr, Birmingham, I embrace the roles of an artist and a versatile individual with a range of skills. Since 2017, I’ve been a part of the sculpture painting artist community, drawing inspiration from the delicate wonders of nature, especially the grace of flowers and the marvels of the natural world. My art serves as a reflection of my deep-seated love for the environment and my commitment to climate advocacy, prioritising saving elephants in Sri Lanka. In my journey, I’ve also dedicated my talents to charitable endeavours, raising funds for various causes.

“Ele Friendly is inspired by Asian elephants and their vital role in the ecosystem. These intelligent animals maintain forest balance by dispersing seeds, creating water sources, and enriching soil through their dung. Living in close, matriarchal herds, they demonstrate empathy and cooperation, supporting both their own species and many others within their environment.”
