Residents and staff at Rivermede Court came together to raise money for Thames Hospice at a festive Christmas fair
Residents and staff at Rivermede Court care home in Egham have raised an impressive £1,411 for Thames Hospice after hosting a festive Christmas fair. The event saw residents selling handmade Christmas decorations, centrepieces, coasters and gonks, while staff organised a Santa’s grotto, tombola and raffle.
A range of prizes were donated by local businesses, including a £200 golf voucher from Royal Ascot Golf Club, cinema tickets from Everyman Egham, a nail voucher from Anna’s Nails and a family ticket to Bocketts Farm. The fair attracted strong support from the local community, with live music, gingerbread decorating run by the Navy Seals, and stalls selling wreaths, make-up and crochet items adding to the festive atmosphere.
Manon James-Mallinger, general manager at Rivermede Court, said the team were thrilled to exceed their £1,000 fundraising target and were proud to support Thames Hospice, which provides compassionate care for people with life-limiting illnesses and vital support for their families.
Jess Seymour, project manager at Thames Hospice, thanked Rivermede Court for their generosity, saying the funds raised would help the hospice continue providing comfort, dignity and support to patients and their loved ones when they need it most.
Rivermede Court, on The Avenue in Egham, is part of the Cinnamon Care Collection and provides residential, dementia and respite care.
