Last Wednesday, Thames Hospice was a riot of colour as we hosted our official artist selection event for our upcoming ‘Trunks across the Thames’ art trail.
Over 100 partners and supporters arrived for a vibrant evening, tasked with the exciting challenge of picking their top three favourite designs. With over 80 stunning pieces on display – shortlisted from an incredible 300 entries from artists by artists both local and from further afield – the atmosphere in the room was electric, and everyone was blown away by the sheer talent on show.
Jess Seymour, Project Manager explained “This event is a true celebration of the incredible synergy between our partners and the community. It’s the moment where the vision for ‘Trunks across the Thames’ really starts to take shape, and we begin to see how these beautiful designs will eventually transform our streets.”
Jess highlighted that evening marked the beginning of the trail’s creative journey: “By matching our sponsors with their favourite pieces, we are officially starting the process of bringing this art to life for everyone to enjoy. This is where the magic begins.”
What’s Next?
Now that the favourite designs have been cast, the final pairings of artists and sponsors will begin! This event marks a massive milestone in our journey toward the trail launch, and we can’t wait to see these designs leap off the page and onto the streets of Slough and Windsor!
